Ms. Dagilis – New English Teacher for 7th & 8th Grade

Hello Parents, Guardians, and Families of Walter Reed!
My name is Danielle Dagilis, and I will be a Humanities Academy 7th/8th grade ELA teacher.  I’m both proud and excited to become a Reed Wolf!  To let you know a little bit about myself, I majored in Communications at Emerson College in Boston and then moved to LA in 1999.  My teaching career began about 12 years ago when I taught 6th grade English and History in Koreatown.  Since then, I’ve earned my Masters in Education Administration from Cal State Northridge, and I’m thrilled to have recently become Nationally Board Certified in the Teaching Profession.  Over the years I’ve been able to teach all of the middle school grades, so I am ready to jump right in at Reed.  My favorite books include Catcher in the Rye, and East of Eden.  I love my New England sports teams, and I try to visit Cape Cod every summer to see my family.  In LA, you can find me hiking in our many beautiful mountains, shopping at local farmers markets, or relaxing with Netflix!  It is my goal to make English challenging, interesting, fun and creative – almost all at once!  I look forward to meeting you all soon!
