6th Grade Pali Camp

Humanities Academy offers an overnight field trip at every grade level. For 6th grade, that trip is to Pali Camp, located in the San Bernardino Mountains near Lake Arrowhead. Pali Camp is not only an educational experience, meeting some of our science standards, but it is also a trip where students get a chance to meet the kids in their academy away from school and bond with them on a personal level. Beyond that, it is also a time where they are met with individual challenges, team building, and have an opportunity to overcome and grow alongside their school community. The trip is lead by Ms. Siminski along with the other 6th grade Humanities teachers, and has become a truly wonderful experience for our 6th graders to share.

2018 Pali Camp Details:

Camp Dates: October 24–26

First Deposit:  $50 / due Friday, Aug. 18

Final payment of $300 / due Wed., Aug. 30

Total Cost: $350 (includes 3 day / 2 night trip stay, meals, bus transportation, instruction + camp chaperones)

Remember FOR-HA this Giving Season

Dear Families,

As 2016 draws to a close, many of you are considering your charitable donations for the year.  We’d love for you to consider making a donation to Friends of Humanities Academy.  Your donation goes directly to helping your child’s teachers make the classroom more interesting, challenging, and more engaging. FORHA donations are the reason that our kids have laptops in the classroom, overnight field trips to Pali Camp and Nature Bridge, UpFront and Scope Magazines for classroom use, the list goes on and on.  We need your help to continue to provide this unique middle school experience for these unique Humanities students.

FORHA works closely with other groups at Walter Reed, such as Music and Friends of Reed, which benefit all students at Reed.  We encourage you to consider donating to these groups as well as to FORHA.

Thank you, have a wonderful holiday season, and we’ll see you in the New Year!

~Your Friends at FORHA
