Backpacks/textbooks/lockers
To accommodate heavy books, a rolling backpack is useful. 6th grade lockers are not near the 6th grade bungalows, so are difficult to access between classes.
Books can be copied & bound into segments, so students don’t have to carry the entire book to school. Self-copying at a copy/print shop is suggested. Many teachers have a classroom set of textbooks to use, so that students can leave their textbook at home for homework use.

Humanities Students Dance at World Music Festival

From Ms. MIMG_465499795intz:

There were close to 100 Reed students at the Skirball on Friday for an incredible music experience. Ms. Mills brought her STEAM honors as well as half of Ms. Siminski’s Humanities class. I had my Humanities class and took Ms. Adkins’ special Ed class. We had plenty of adults, thankfully.

Here’s just one shot from a moment where EVERYONE was up dancing!  Reed kids are so special. I was moved many times by their enthusiasm and excitement. They had perfect behavior — making this teacher so proud.
Thank you to the Humanities Academy for covering the one class sub. So happy Skirball funds the bus and admission for all our kids.

It was truly a beautiful experience that many parents also got to enjoy with us.  IMG_465502844
