Homeless and animal shelter donations

Hi there, I am asking the students to help the other academies with the collection of canned food for the homeless (non perishable thanksgiving type foods or gift cards) and old blankets, or towels or pet food for a local animal shelter. I think it is important that young people learn to help others and this is always a good time of year to make it a teachable moment. I spent many years in the north Glendale Unified School District area and have taught at Reed before in 2006.Then, I taught at Roy Romer Middle School for several years and even spent a year working in Redlands.
