STREET SAFETY

In light of the recent accident and so much construction around our school, street safety is a big concern. We've found SafeKids.org to be a helpful site, offering articles like "Pedestrian Safety For Pre-Teens." Did you know…

"Surprisingly, when it comes to walking safely, teenagers are now the most at-risk youth for pedestrian injuries. Cell phones and other handheld gadgets are causing teens to be more easily distracted, which is leading to greater risk on the roads. Make sure your preteen focuses on the road with these tips."  Click to continue: Top Safety Tips

FROM OUR TEACHERS...

A few reminders for parents and students. We know that Humanities is a rigorous academic program, and 6th grade, in particular, can be an adjustment for our students. Humanities Academy is designed to be this way. Please remember that "time management" is a necessary skill that students are learning, both during their provided class work time and, hopefully, at home. We trust your students will get there and, as teachers, we are always available if you need us.

FYI… FAV TEACHER CONTEST

Barnes & Noble is hosting this. If you love Humanities, give a shout out - the winner could be YOU!  MyFavoriteTeacherEntryForm
