Parents, we’ve had a few close calls. We all know Walter Reed is a busy place - especially at drop-off and pick-up. Please use extra caution around our school and talk to your children about street safety. Some reminders:

• For All: Put your cell phone away and pay attention to the traffic and people around you.

• Students, especially those who walk home - Use the cross walks and traffic lights. DO NOT JAYWALK especially across busy streets like Moorpark and Colfax. You are not invincible!

• Parents: Why not time your pick-up? - School grounds are open until 3:30. A great deal of congestion can be relieved by waiting just a few minutes. Pick up your child at 3:20 or 3:30- with much less traffic! In addition, please Do Not:

• Make U-turns in the streets surrounding the school

• Double park

• Hold-up traffic to drop off your child, instead select a safe parking place for drop-offs and pick-ups.

It will be here soon!  February 23, 2018
