MEET MR. MAGEE, OUR NEW AP

We would like to extend a hearty welcome to Reed’s new Assistant Principal, Mr James Magee! He is already jumping in and bringing much needed support to our other two APs, Mr. Seguro and Ms. Mukasa.  It's a big job as his role covers most of student life: ASB, overseeing field trips, discipline, calendar, approving fundraisers and plant & facilities use. You can find him greeting students every morning with a cheery smile at drop off, or stop by his office and say hello!

COOL SCHOOL

Some recent news to inspire some school pride-

The WRMS PTSA is now 60 years old! We received an award for this lengthy accomplishment and noted that our school has the longest running PTSA in the LA area.

The Special Olympics has given a 3K grant to Walter Reed recognizing outstanding efforts of inclusion for students with special needs.

Steam Academy has been awarded a 2K grant for work in water conservation. They plan to purchase and install a purified water station in the main building with the funds.

Our recent SLC Orientation saw over 1000 interested students visit to learn about our programs. Academy tours are ongoing and have seen over 500 so far. Wow!
