THIS WEEK IN HUMANITIES...

Here's your news and information for the week of September 18.

ANNUAL GIVING, SO NEARLY THERE...

We are two thirds of the way towards our goal, or one third away depending on if you see the glass two thirds full or one third empty. Honestly, we just want a full glass. Throughout the year our students have field trips, both 'in school' (see REMO below) and further abroad (for which we always fund scholarships).  Speakers and theatre companies visit and perform, and provide workshops.  Publications are purchased. Budget gaps are, to the best of our ability, spackled.  We understand not all families can donate, but if you can we'd appreciate it.  Anything from an astonishingly substantial check to what you found rummaging in your couch is gratefully received.

 • Give Online through Friend of Reed, making sure to select "HUMANITIES" from the General Donation drop down menu

• Give by Check by simply filling out the Annual Giving Form, then return to the Main Office.

The monthly FORHA Meeting this past Thursday was well attended. Our enrichment goals and budget for 2017-18 were presented, a motion to purchase a second Chromebook cart for our academy was voted on and approved, and preparations for Poker Night got underway. A special thanks to the Ciavarra family for hosting us!

REMO Drum Circles was outstanding. Chris at Freedom Drums lead our three 8th grade classes in an interactive and engaging workshop on the science of sound. Check out pics (above) and videos on FB: https://www.facebook.com/FORHumanitiesAcademy/
