The HUMANITIES LASER TAG NIGHT is this Thursday, Sept 7 at Ultrazone in Sherman Oaks.
• 6th grade Only at 6pm // 6th, 7th and 8th grade from 7-9:30pm.
• Advance tickets: $20 / avail through your English teacher
• At the Door: $25

T-SHIRTS ARE IN
If you ordered a T-shirt at registration, you may now pick it up from your English teacher. Bring $20. Extras are available as well.
IT'S STILL ANNUAL GIVING TIME!
Our Humanities Academy needs funding! We are still hoping to purchase Chromebooks for the 7th and 8th grade, there are several local field trips planned, and there are the every day costs incurred in covering budget gaps. Any donation is a generous donation and gratefully received. If you haven't yet done so, please take a moment TODAY to send in your tax-deductible donation.
• Give Online through Friend of Reed, making sure to select "HUMANITIES" from the General Donation drop down menu
• Give by Check by simply filling out the Annual Giving Form, then return to the Main Office.
HURRICANE HARVEY
We hope any friends and family in Texas are safe. The NJHS collected about 12 boxes of clothing and about $1200 in monetary donations for the victims of Hurricane Harvey at Back to school Night!
The collection is being extended. Please drop off donations of children's clothes (clean and in good condition), uniforms and school supplies or monetary donations at the main office Tues-Thurs, 8 am - 4 pm. The following links are for online donations:

Margaret Goldenberg ensures the weekly Thursday Bake Sale is delicious, fun and profitable. Sellers & Sweets are always needed. Please bring baked (or bought) donations to Room 107. Sellers meet in front of the auditorium. Contact Margaret at: Margaretgoldenberg@mac.com if you’re free this week.
A portion of the sales will be donated to Hurricane Harvey charities.

SCREENAGERS
Fellow middle school Millikan's Math Academy will host the documentary SCREENAGERS, which examines the messy struggles over social media, video games, academics, internet addiction and how we can empower kids to best navigate the digital world.
This event is open to everyone -- parents, students and the community. Pizza, snacks and beverages will be sold before and after the movie. Wednesday, September 13 at 6:30pm.

A rep from Bright Spark will join Ms. Bobrosky-Kinsey in the library to brief parents and answer questions about the 2018 NY trip.
