WELCOME BACK 

Happy New Year Humanities families! We trust you had a fun and relaxing break, and we are looking forward to an exciting 2nd semester with you! 

 

FOHA MEETING 

Our next monthly meeting will be this THURSDAY EVENING, JANUARY 12th at 7:00 pm. Hosted by the Altschuler’s at 11311 Valley Spring Lane, Studio City 91604 

 

NATUREBRIDGE NEWS 

7th grade families: a parent meeting will be held on TUESDAY, JANUARY 17th, at 6 pm in the Library to meet the Naturebridge rep and hear more about the fabulous overnight trip we have planned. Donation balances of $200 are due on January 19th. Fliers will be sent home as well. 

 

NEW VICE PRINCIPAL 

We welcome a new Vice Principal to Reed this semester. Dr. Jelin has been called to work her magic at Van Nuys Middle School and we are sorry to see her go. We warmly welcome Ms. Eunice Mukasa as our new Assistant Principal. Ms. Mukasa comes to us with experience in both High School and Middle School administration and we look forward to her support of our vibrant school community.

These little steps can earn us a bundle. Take a minute in this new year to set up these simple Shop & Earn options to help our school! 

 

•BOX TOPS for EDUCATION - Just bring in the “Box Top" coupons that you can clip from hundreds of participating brands and Walter Reed earns money. A collection box is in the front office; your child can also bring in to their 1st period teacher. 

 

•AMAZON SMILE – Amazon will donate a % of your purchases to the charity of your choice. Follow these steps to set up or to change your charity of choice: 1. 1. Sign in to smile.amazon.com on your desktop or mobile phone browser. 

2. From your desktop, go to Your Account from the navigation at the top of any page, and then select the option to Change your Charity. Or, from your mobile browser, select Change your Charity from the options at the bottom of the page.

•VENTURA RECEIPTS – Give us your shopping receipts! When you shop on Ventura Boulevard (btwn Carpenter Ave & Whitsett, this includes Trader Joes and Vons) it qualifies the school to receive up to 10 percent of all the receipts collected (up to $8,000.00 per calendar year!) The collection box is located in main office & marked Ventura Shopping receipts. Funded by the Studio City Improvement Association.
